With many ups and downs year 2019 went well for humankind. But at the later stage when humans were set to bid adieu the year a new problem stood before them. It was the entry of COVID-19, a novel Coronavirus into the human world. This virus was first reported in Wuhan, Hubei, China, probably near the meat market. It has been said that it has come from some animal. Slowly infecting humans, this virus penetrated into the whole China. By the time humans entered into the new year of the new decade it started spreading into the neighbouring countries. China, taking stock of the situation locked down its most infected cities. World Health Organisation (WHO) jumped into action and cautioned the whole world of its menace. Many countries took this news with great seriousness and made efforts to prevent its entry. But this virus which was not visible to the naked human eyes started spreading its tentacles all across the world. From South Korea to Japan, Italy to Iran, Pakistan, USA, India, Australia, Africa it made its entry to 160+ countries carved by the humans on the planet. WHO called this outbreak a Pandemic on 11th of March 2020. Today on 18th of March there are about 20, 2000+ patients worldwide who are infected by it. More than 8000 people have been died so far. Most infected region now is Europe. Slowly it is spreading like a wild fire in India also, with cases rising day by day.

As of 19th of March there are about 170 positive cases of Coronavirus in India out of which 3 are reported in J&K. It is a good news though that our District Kishtwar along with our Subdivision Paddar is safe with zero number of cases and administration is doing well to prevent its spread.   1. Hi Ashish it’s wonderful to learn that you have shown concern of prevailing CORONA pandemic. There is still lot of unawareness among the people. Many of
    the people having foreign travel history don’t cooperate with the agencies and escape screening at entry points. As a result of which the chances of spreading the pandemic increases. So it’s highly advisable to keep and maintain social distancing and avoid crowded places and maintain hygiene because awareness is the only fight against coward COVID-19.
